MISSION

The mission of CHRISTUS Health is to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

About the Foundation

In 2005, CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital recognized both a need and an opportunity to create a health care center of excellence, to support those most in need of its services in Southwest Louisiana and to support our community’s initiatives. The CHRISTUS St. Patrick Foundation was born in pursuit of that goal. Now the CHRISTUS Ochsner SWLA Foundation, serving CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana, thrives with the support of the hospital’s patients and employees, along with members of the community.

The Foundation now oversees all philanthropic efforts for the hospitals since 2016. Through the support of major gifts, planned giving, events, capital campaigns and other programs, it has contributed nearly $9 million toward initiatives like establishing a nationally accredited Breast Center, funding a therapeutic activity room for geriatric unit patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and more. Additionally, as a Children’s Miracle Network partner, the Foundation makes CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana a leader in pediatric medical care and health education opportunities.
