2021 Dragon Boat Races
“We don’t have to paddle to make waves!”
This year’s Dragon Boat Race will be one like no other! Join us as we engage our community’s, families, friends and organizations to participate in our reimaged 2021 Dragon Boat Race. Even though we have encountered challenging circumstances our commitment to change kid’s health and change the future still remains strong. Continued support to our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital’s through the different challenges listed below will surely exceed our fundraising expectations.
Dragon Boat CMN Challenge
Teams participating in the CMN Challenge will get creative and host their own fundraisers such as miracle jean day, BBQ dinner sale, silent auctions, anything the team can dream up. The idea is that each team can create individual teams and share the link to their social media platforms, family and friends so that they can contribute to the team as well.
Dragon Fever
Participants will head to one of five locations that will have a dragon head displayed. Take a winning selfie photo, hashtag it to social media and enter to be shown in our event day presentation.

#PaddleFor CMN
#PaddleAtHome – Hashtag and post a photo or video of your dragon boat creations. It can be a pool, a box or even your bathtub! Get creative and win a prize.
Dragon Race Day
Join us for a brand new race day experience! Our virtual presentation on Race Day will be filled with photos, videos, information about the work of our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and much more.
In addition, we will award medals for:

Results
In 2019, we raised more than $143,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network, which is now funding critical life-saving equipment for babies being treated in our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Labor and Delivery Unit at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital.
This year in light of the development of COVID-19 across our country and in our Louisiana parishes, we have made the prayerful decision to cancel this year’s Dragon Boat Race event. This is not a decision that has been made lightly. As a healthcare system it is our mission to extend His healing ministry and in doing so – lead the way in being proactive to prevent the spread of the virus.
