Children’s Miracle Network funds virtual closet for school-based health centers in SWLA

CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana operates five School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) in Southwest Louisiana, providing consistent care through approximately 22,000 student patient visits each year. Currently in our schools, there are kids without easy access to basic hygiene products like toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and hairbrushes. Thanks to funding from the Children’s Miracle Network at the CHRISTUS Ochsner SWLA Foundation, SBHC associates now have a virtual closet of these products to share with students as they see fit. The foundation established a budget of $15,000 for this initiative, of which $7,500 has been invested so far.
