Join us for some St. Patrick’s Day fun the entire month of March. Help us celebrate our annual Green Hat Fun Run | Walk | Crawl | Drive event with a twist this year, “The COVID Edition”!
WEAR YOUR GREEN HATS AND JOIN US FOR SOME ST. PATRICK’S DAY FUN
The Green Hat Charity Fun Run Walk Crawl Drive is a beloved event each year. This year due to COVID-19 we had to remodel the event. So this self-guided month long event is sure to encourage even more people to participate this year to support our 2021 Green Hat event. This event will help raise funds for the Women’s Birthing Services at our CHRISTUS Lake Area campus. This year’s event participants will receive t-shirts, six redeemable tickets to local participating restaurants, lanyards, and now mask. The participants will be able to pick up the mentioned items at our Foundation Office (437 Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive, located at the Northeast corner of the Parking Garage) Monday through Friday, February 26th thru March 15th between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
And as a bonus this year, we are raffling off a 2021 Toyota RAV 4 with the $50 purchase of the raffle ticket.
- The cost of a raffle ticket is not eligible for a tax-deductible gift. Winner is responsible for payment of taxes prior to delivery of the automobile.
Results
In 2018, the Green Hat Run raised $25,000, which funded the purchase of a LiteGait® Partial-Weight-Bearing Gait Therapy Device, which allows patients with an ambulatory dysfunction to walk comfortably in an environment free from falls.
In 2019, the Green Hat Run attracted more than 200 participants and raised more than $33,000 to fund specialized equipment for the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital, including treatment tables; strength-building equipment like weight benches and a leg press machine; a plyometric rebounder and more.
This year in light of the development of COVID-19 across our country and in our Louisiana parishes, we have made the prayerful decision to cancel this year’s Green Hat Fun Run Walk Crawl event. This is not a decision that has been made lightly. As a healthcare system it is our mission to extend His healing ministry and in doing so – lead the way in being proactive to prevent the spread of the virus.
